The Classic Art of Rolling a Joint

The How-To of Rolling Classic Joints

While we believe vaping is healthier than smoking, all stoners should know how to roll a joint, so here at All Things Dank we teach y'all the tricks!

1)   Make sure you have good papers. The paper in a joint isn’t the part that gets people high, so naturally you want to use as little of that as possible. You might even want to consider tearing your papers down to a smaller size. Some healthy trimming can also make the joint easier to roll, as you don’t have to deal with extra paper. The wider, squarer types of papers give you more room to get creative, and make different shapes.

2)   The mix is perhaps the most important part of the joint. Make sure the consistency is even by breaking-up or removing any lumps or 'woody' bits. You only want the good shit in the joint!

3)   You can determine the shape of your joint by how you distribute your weed over the papers. A few pro tips, while cones tend to smoke more smoothly than classic, straight joints, they are a little more difficult to roll. If your new at rolling joints, consider working your way up to a Cone joint once you’ve mastered the straight joint.

4)   Put the roach in before you roll the joint. This will save you time and hassle in the long run, and make it easier to roll overall. You're also more likely to get a perfect fit and roll it up right the first time.

5)   After you’ve put your mix in evenly and put in the roach, here comes the 'tricky' bit. Rolling outwards, make sure to stick everything up and starting in the middle.  Remember, your thumbs should do the majority of the work, but your forefingers should give support and a little bit of pressure.  As you are doing this, you should start to feel the mix firming inside the paper.

6)   Once you have an even consistency throughout,  its time to tuck down the facing paper edge with tips of your thumbs,  if there is an excess paper wrap it around the joint,  and the finally wet and seal that joint up!

7)    Remember, the best joints aren’t flimsy, and are more on the firm side, but are wrapped so tight you have nearly have to bust a lung drawing smoke. Ya dig?!

And so there you have it, the art of rolling a classic joint. And as the saying goes, practice makes perfect. So by some good quality papers, and start practicing, and be ready to smoke a whole bunch of joints! See what Snoop Dogg has to say about rolling a joint!
